Angel

Angel depicts the classic fall from Grace of a tramp who meets an angel in a graveyard and sets up home with him. Through the angel we enter an ambivalent world of dreams, curses and revelation. Is the angel a companion, a messenger, a judge or is it just the bad trip of a tramp who has had one too many...

Angel was first presented at CaDance festival 2004 as the first solo outing of Duda Paiva. It immediately showed the power of Duda’s work and became a big hit. Created as a crossover of modern dance and puppetry, Angel is a confession story of unholy love.

 

By the abstract of modern dance and the art of puppetry, together with the power of images and by breaking the 4th wall, Angel conquered hearts in France, Germany, Poland, Czech, Slovenia, Hungary, Belgium, Estonia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, United Kingdom, Suisse, Norway, Turkey, Denmark, Israel, Austria, Bolivia, Singapore, Brazil, Australia, La Réunion, Canada, South Africa and is still on tour.

 

Angel is produced by CaDance 2004 and Laswerk. Tour is every now and then financially supported by Funds for Performing Arts NL/ FAKP, VSB Funds and Dutch Embassies all over the world.
